Teaching Old Testament Prophecy
with Carrie Sandom
Saturday 1st March 2025, 10.00am to 2.00pm
St Mary’s Church Maidenhead
A Teaching Day for Women
The New Testament tells us that the Old Testament prophets were serving us when they prophesied about the coming Messiah – His sufferings and subsequent glory. They spoke of a future “Day of the Lord” when justice and righteousness would be revealed for all to see, as the Messiah saves His people from their oppressors and judges the nations of the earth. But what they thought of as one day turned out to be two major events in history and we’re living right between them.
This means that these Old Testament prophecies are as important today as when they were first written and the warnings contained within them are even more urgent. So how are we to understand them today and what tools do we need to dig up the treasure within?
This teaching day is for women who are teaching the Bible to children, young people or adults, whether full-time, part-time or doing it all in their spare time. There will be interactive elements throughout the day as we work on passages from Isaiah and how they are to be understood and applied today.
Join us for a day at St Mary’s Church Maidenhead as we discover some of the tools we need to handle this Biblical genre well.
